The Zoo

When we went to the zoo, it was a lovely sunny day. Our class had earned marbles in a jar for good behaviour, and our reward was a day at the Hamilton Zoo.
When everyone  arrived, we all split up into groups and wandered around the zoo. Mrs Draper was one of the helpers for our group. There were six kids in the group, including me.
We passed the tuatara cage before we arrived at the rhinos. At the lazy rhinos' enclosure, there was a lot of dusty dirt all over the place. There was a tree that looked like it was dying, but most of trees were still alive. While we were watching, the lazy grey hard skinned rhinos slept and walked very slowly and lazily. After we had become really bored with watching the rhinos do their thing, we moved on.
Our group had gone  past a few animals when we came to the giraffes’ enclosure. There were seven tall orange and black boy giraffes walking slowly and quietly around in a large heap of sand and poles with cages on top with hay inside, then we noticed that there were six black and white zebras in the same enclosure running around with a lot of speed, but they couldn’t run around with that much speed  because the enclosure was too small and there were too many trees and poles.
Our group moved onto the next animal the cheetah. We were all excited to see the cheetahs because they are as fast as lightning but the one who wanted to see the cheetahs most was Madeline. As we looked through the cage to see the cheetah, we finally found it. When we saw the cheetah, I grabbed Madeline's ipod from the front pocket of my bag and took a lot of photos of the cheetahs.  In the first photo, the cheetah was far back.
After a while, we started to head back to where the group started because it was almost time to go and we were on the other side of the zoo so it was going to take a while.
We got there in  good time because we still had a few minutes until it was our turn to go into the classroom. We waited for a few minutes then our the whole class was called in. Inside the classroom were  animal bones and skins. Matt told us that the animal skins and bones lived thousands of years ago. In the room, there was a glassy window ,and behind it, was a brown and grey tuatara.
I thought it had been an amazing time and I can’t wait till next time.
